Zielsetzung / Satzungszweck:

Vereinszweck (gemäß Vereinssatzung):

Purpose of the Association

(1) The purpose of the association is

the promotion of science and research in the field of railroad technology, railroad operations, public passenger transportation, freight transportation and logistics;
the promotion of education, public and vocational training in the field of transportation sciences

and

the promotion of the provision of information on railroads as an ecologically advantageous means of transportation, which serves the public good.

(2) This purpose is realized in particular through
(a) Public relations;
(b) Organization of central events of the association or cooperation in events or exhibitions that serve the professional dialogue of association members with relevant players in the rail and transport sector in science, business, politics and society;
(c) Research projects, in particular the awarding of research contracts;
(d) Maintenance of a further education academy;
(e) Collection and maintenance of teaching materials and the provision of transport-related databases that have been compiled from its own data collections or the aggregation of third-party data;
(f) Maintenance of information centers for the collection and provision of information on the rail and transport sector;
(g) Maintenance of a career guidance center;
(h) maintenance of information portals on the Internet for the provision of information on the rail and transport sector.

(3) The purpose of the association shall also be achieved through earmarked donations from membership fees, voluntary donations and the personal commitment and public relations work of the association members, provided that the purposes of the association are realized as a result.
